I created Soul Fragments from documenting a regulated creative habit for 20 minutes per day for 10 consecutive days. The creative operation performed was kaleidoscope photography, three mirrors taped together to form a fragmented image when placed against the lens of a camera.
After creating 10 images, I began researching kaleidoscopes to help find a direction for my application and came upon the practice of soul retrieval. It is a tradition of Shamanism and is considered a healing process that brings lost fragments of the soul back to the body. The photos I created during my 10 day process reminded me of fragmented souls because they are split fragments of an image, pieced back together with reflection. This idea inspired me to create a yoga brand called Soul Fragments, using patterns found within the kaleidoscope imagery as graphic patterns for yoga mats.

Intention Statement:
The intention for this brand is to inspire soul searching and mental healing through natural methods. Yoga is an ancient practice that promotes mental and physical well-being. Soul fragments will be a brand that promotes well-being and healing through yoga products that inspire your soul.
